Probably the best Shootout ever! :) Just a couple quick notes:
If you're not in the 10's, don't even bother running your car. There were several people who didn't make the Quick 16 that ran solid 9's. I saw a couple of 8 second passes from Q16 cars as well. What's most amazing is how stock so many of those cars looked. While there were a couple of RWD tube frame conversions, they were the exception rather than the norm! Definitely the best overall racing I've ever seen there.
I'm guessing more people showed than expected as the concession stands were overwhelmed. The lines/wait times were horrible, and they ran out of containers to put the food in quite early on. I heard elsewhere that it may have been the largest attendance ever, but it seemed to me that we'd had more cars in the past. Hard to tell. Seems like people jam their cars much closer together now that it's paved (one of the things that really turned me off to running up to Milan for events and annoys me about Norwalk now... I liked the grassy areas a lot better than having the whole place paved), so it's possible that it was the biggest shootout ever.
