Very odd, not sure what was going on this morning. It was recycle day, so I put out the recycling bin along with the trash, just like normal. Happened to be looking out the window when the recycling truck goes by, with a guy walking along behind. He empties the neighbor's recycling bin into the truck, walks over to ours, looks in it and turns around and walks away! WHAT!? Is our recycling not good enough? I know we didn't a huge overflowing bin like some people, maybe it wasn't worth his effort to pick it up and throw it in the back of the truck? Maybe the truck was getting full?
I continued watching and noted that he DID empty another neighbors recycling bin. Huh, maybe he's only after one particular "type" (we have 2, plastic/metal and newspaper/cardboard). Just then another recycling truck rolled down our street. Oh good, this guy will get ours. No, we just leans over and glances in as he drives by!
By this time I need to leave for work. As I'm pulling out of the driveway, 2 more recycle trucks are headed down our street (as the original 2 are leaving the neighborhood). Good, the bin will at least be empty when I get home... NOT. Apparently neither of those 2 thought our recycling was worth picking up either. That's Toledo for you, I don't know why I bother anymore. No wonder all the smart people are leaving, we can't even get our recycling picked up around here.
